A recent publication by members of the Arnsberg Cemetery Association is available. Arnsberg was at one time a busy hamlet located east of Friedheim, Missouri. It was founded by Adolph Tacke who owned and operated a grain mill, a blacksmith shop, a general store and a harness shop. The St. John Lutheran Congregation also was located there. The small congregation disbanded around 1900 with most members attending Immanuel Lutheran, Perryville, Missouri and/or Trinity, Friedheim, Missouri. About all that remains of the church, the several shops and the mill is a large mill pond and the St. John Cemetery. In 1998 a group of interested descendants of those buried in the cemetery, met and formed the Arnsberg Cemetery Association. The Arnsberg History Book, in looseleaf format, is now in its second printing. The 165 pages is jammed with history of the community, the people who lived there and the genealogy family sheets of most of the 137 burials in the cemetery. For a copy, you may contact the church at the above e-mail addresses or stop by. A donation for cemetery upkeep, preservation and/or perpetual care, of $25.00 plus $5.00 s&h is requested
